Phuket in October
Not the best time
October isn't ideal for Phuket. Consider a different month.
All Months
Phuket's weather follows a simple pattern: hot and dry versus hot and wet. The best months run from November through April, when rainfall drops to almost nothing and temperatures hover around 30°C.
High season peaks from December through February. This is when Europeans escape winter, so expect crowds and premium prices. Hotel rates double, and popular restaurants require reservations. But the weather stays perfect—sunny days, cool evenings, calm seas.
March and April bring the hottest temperatures of the year, often hitting 35°C by midday. The beaches still shine, but you'll spend more time seeking shade. Prices start dropping as the season winds down.
May through October marks monsoon season, but don't write it off completely. Rain usually comes in short, heavy bursts rather than all-day downpours. The island turns lush green, hotel prices plummet, and you'll have beaches mostly to yourself. Just check weather forecasts before booking boat trips—seas can get rough.
Avoid September and October if possible. These months see the heaviest rainfall and roughest seas. Some restaurants and tour operators close entirely. But if you don't mind occasional storms, you'll find incredible deals on accommodation.
