Migrating whales are more active, and you'll dodge the cruise ship crowds. July brings wildflowers and the warmest weather, but also the most people. August can be rainy but offers excellent berry picking — wild blueberries and salmonberries grow everywhere. September is underrated. Fewer crowds, fall colors, and often clearer skies for glacier viewing. The trade-off? Some tour operators reduce schedules, and weather becomes less predictable.
