April through October gives you the best weather for Žižkov's outdoor beer gardens and street festivals. Summer brings the Colours of Ostrava spillover events and rooftop parties, but also crowds of backpackers. May and September hit the sweet spot - warm enough for terrace drinking, cool enough that locals haven't fled for their country houses. Winter has its own charm if you don't mind gray skies. The neighborhood's cozy pubs feel extra welcoming when it's snowing outside, and you'll have the streets mostly to yourself. Just pack layers - those communist-era buildings can be drafty.
