Willamette Valley in January
Not the best time
January isn't ideal for Willamette Valley. Consider a different month.
All Months
May through October offers the best weather and full access to outdoor activities. Harvest season (September-October) brings special energy with crush happening at wineries, but expect crowds and higher prices. The hills turn golden, and many wineries offer harvest experiences where you can stomp grapes or help with picking.
Spring (April-May) delivers stunning vineyard blooms and fewer tourists. Many wineries open their reserve rooms during this season. The weather stays cool, perfect for hiking between tastings.
Summer (June-August) brings perfect weather but also peak crowds and prices. Book accommodations months ahead. The long days mean wineries stay open later, and many host outdoor concerts and food events.
Winter has its charms if you don't mind rain. Many tasting rooms have fireplaces, and you'll often have the vintner's full attention. Some wineries close January-February, so call ahead.
