April through September offers the best experience. The palace gardens bloom spectacularly in late spring – tulips and daffodils carpet the formal beds in April and May. Summer brings outdoor concerts in the palace courtyard, usually Thursday evenings in July and August. Autumn colors peak in early October, making the tree-lined paths particularly photogenic. Winter visits work for the palace interior, but the gardens lose their appeal and some outdoor areas close. Weekday mornings see fewer crowds – arrive by 10am to have the gardens mostly to yourself. Weekend afternoons can get packed with Warsaw families.
