October through March. Period. Summer temperatures hit 50°C (122°F), turning this place into an actual oven. We visited in February and daytime temps were perfect at 22°C (72°F), but nights dropped to near freezing. Pack layers. December and January offer the coolest weather but also the biggest crowds - relatively speaking, since this place never gets truly crowded. The sweet spot is late October or early March when you'll have mild days, comfortable nights, and fewer tour groups competing for the best camping spots. Ramadan affects tour availability since many operators are local Muslims, so check dates before booking. Sandstorms can hit any time but are most common in March and April. Your guide will monitor weather, but be flexible with dates. And here's something magical: try to time your visit around a new moon. The lack of light pollution makes the Milky Way so bright you can read by starlight.
