March through May gives you perfect weather for walking tours and outdoor café sitting. Temperatures hover around 22-26°C, and the jacaranda trees along Rothschild bloom purple in April. October and November work just as well — summer's heat breaks, but you still get 8+ hours of daylight for photography. December through February brings rain and occasional 15°C days that feel colder than they sound. Summer is brutal. July and August hit 30°C+ with humidity that makes exploring on foot miserable between 11 AM and 5 PM. But if you're stuck with summer dates, start early — the golden hour light on white buildings at 6 AM is spectacular, and most cafés open by 7 AM. Avoid Israeli holidays when possible; everything shuts down for Yom Kippur and Rosh Hashanah, and prices spike during Passover.
