Viet Nam in November
Great time to visit
November is one of the best months to visit Viet Nam.
All Months
Vietnam stretches long north to south, so weather varies dramatically by region. November through April generally works best for most of the country – dry season with comfortable temperatures.
Northern Vietnam (Hanoi, Sapa, Halong Bay) gets genuinely cold from December through February. Pack layers if you're trekking in Sapa during these months. March and April offer perfect weather before the summer heat and humidity kick in.
Central Vietnam around Hoi An and Hue sees its dry season from February through August. The ancient town looks magical in the soft light of March and April, before temperatures climb into the uncomfortable range.
Southern Vietnam stays warm year-round, but the dry season from November through April means less rain and more predictable weather for outdoor activities. Ho Chi Minh City can feel oppressive during the wet season, with daily downpours that flood streets.
Tet (Vietnamese New Year) usually falls in late January or February. Everything shuts down for about a week, but the celebrations are incredible if you don't mind crowds and higher prices.
