Summer months from June through September offer the most comfortable weather, with daytime temperatures reaching 70-80°F. This is peak tourist season — book accommodations early and expect higher prices. July brings the Naadam Festival, Mongolia's biggest celebration featuring wrestling, horse racing, and archery. The city becomes crowded but electric with energy. September is ideal if you want fewer crowds and still-pleasant weather. Temperatures drop to 50-60°F but you'll have clearer views of the surrounding mountains. Winter visits from November to March mean temperatures plunging to -20°F or lower. Many tourist services shut down, but you'll experience authentic Mongolian winter culture. Spring arrives late — April and May bring unpredictable weather and muddy conditions as snow melts.
