Tsingy de Bemaraha in August

Great time to visit

August is one of the best months to visit Tsingy de Bemaraha.

All Months

April through October is your window — and even then, timing matters. April and May offer the sweet spot: dry enough for safe climbing but still green from the rainy season. Wildlife is most active, and temperatures haven't yet reached the brutal highs of late dry season. July through September brings perfect climbing conditions but also the crowds and heat. Expect temperatures over 100°F on the limestone formations, which turn into solar collectors under the African sun. October marks the end of ideal conditions before the rains return in November. Avoid the wet season (November-March) entirely. The limestone becomes treacherously slippery, many trails close completely, and getting to the park requires navigating flooded roads that can strand you for days. Plus, the humidity makes the already-challenging climbs feel like you're breathing through a wet towel.
