Tsavo National Park in May
Not the best time
May isn't ideal for Tsavo National Park. Consider a different month.
All Months
The dry season from June through October delivers the best wildlife viewing. Animals gather around water sources, making them easier to spot. January and February also work well - the landscape stays green from short rains, but roads remain passable. March through May brings heavy rains that turn dirt roads into mud traps. Many camps close during this period. November can be tricky with unpredictable showers. For photography, the golden hour light in July and August is spectacular. But here's the thing - Tsavo's vastness means you might drive for hours without major sightings even in peak season. That's part of its wild charm.
