Tobago in October

Not the best time

October isn't ideal for Tobago. Consider a different month.

All Months

Tobago works year-round, but timing affects your experience and wallet. December through April brings perfect weather — low humidity, minimal rain, and trade winds that keep things comfortable. This is peak season, so expect higher prices and more crowds at popular spots. May through November is technically wet season, but don't let that scare you. Rain usually comes in short, intense bursts that clear quickly. Plus, hotel rates drop by 30-40%, and you'll have beaches mostly to yourself. Goat racing season runs April through October, with races every other Tuesday at Buccoo Integrated Facility. It's exactly as ridiculous and entertaining as it sounds. Leatherback turtle nesting happens March through August, with peak activity in May and June. Guided tours from Turtle Beach Lodge cost around US$25 and support conservation efforts. Carnival celebrations in February turn the island upside down in the best possible way. Steel pan music fills the streets, and the energy is infectious. Book accommodations well in advance — this is the one time Tobago truly gets busy.
