Harvest season from February to April is magical – you'll see workers picking grapes at dawn and can join in at some estates. The weather is warm but not scorching, perfect for long lunches on vineyard terraces. September to November brings spring flowers and fewer crowds, plus new vintage releases. Winter (June to August) means cozy fireplaces and hearty food pairings, but some outdoor activities shut down. Avoid December and January – it's peak summer tourist season, accommodation prices double, and the heat can be brutal. The Stellenbosch Wine Festival in February showcases over 600 wines from 100 producers, while the Harvest Festival in March lets you stomp grapes yourself.
