South Central Connecticut in March

Good time to visit

March is a reasonable time to visit South Central Connecticut.

All Months

May through October offers the best weather, but each season brings trade-offs. Late spring (May-June) delivers perfect temperatures and blooming dogwoods, plus you'll beat the summer crowds. Hotel rates stay reasonable, and you can actually get a dinner reservation. Summer is peak season for good reason. Beach weather arrives by July, and coastal towns come alive with festivals and outdoor concerts. But expect crowds, traffic, and doubled hotel prices. Book accommodations by March or prepare to stay inland. Fall (September-October) might be the sweet spot. Foliage peaks in early October, temperatures hover in the 60s, and summer crowds thin out. Plus, Yale students return, energizing New Haven's cultural scene. Winter has its charms if you don't mind bundling up. Museums and restaurants offer deals, and snow-covered town greens look straight out of a Christmas card. Just know that many coastal attractions close or reduce hours November through April.
