October through March offers the best weather – warm days, cool nights, and minimal rain. Temperatures hover around 75-85°F during the day. The northeast monsoon brings occasional showers but nothing torrential. Avoid April through September. The southwest monsoon brings fierce winds and heavy seas. Many flights get canceled, and boat trips become impossible. Temperatures climb above 95°F with crushing humidity. December and January are peak season. The weather is perfect, but accommodation gets scarce. Book months ahead if you're traveling then. Bird migration happens twice yearly – spring and fall. October through November brings the best wildlife viewing as migratory species stop over. Endemic birds are active year-round, but cooler weather makes hiking more comfortable.
