Singapore in December
Not the best time
December isn't ideal for Singapore. Consider a different month.
All Months
Singapore sits one degree north of the equator, so "seasons" mean little. It's hot and humid year-round, with daily highs around 88°F and lows near 78°F.
February through April offers the driest weather. Rain still falls most afternoons, but it's brief and heavy rather than all-day drizzle. Hotel prices peak during Chinese New Year (late January/early February).
May through July brings slightly more rain but fewer crowds. The Great Singapore Sale runs through July, making it prime shopping season. Temperatures stay consistent.
August sees National Day celebrations on the 9th. The parade and fireworks are spectacular, but book accommodations early. This is also when many locals take vacation, so some restaurants close temporarily.
September through November is monsoon season. Rain comes harder and more frequently, but temperatures drop a few degrees. Hotel rates fall significantly.
December through January brings the wettest weather. But Christmas decorations along Orchard Road are stunning, and New Year's Eve at Marina Bay draws massive crowds. Just pack an umbrella and embrace the indoor attractions.
The key insight: Singapore's weather is predictable. Rain falls most days between 2-5pm, then clears up. Plan indoor activities for mid-afternoon, and you'll rarely get caught unprepared.
