Similan Islands Dive in November
Great time to visit
November is one of the best months to visit Similan Islands Dive.
All Months
The Similan Islands operate on nature's schedule, not yours. The park officially opens in mid-October and closes in mid-May, but the sweet spot runs from November through April. November and December offer the calmest seas and best visibility — sometimes reaching 40 meters on the deeper sites like Richelieu Rock. January through March brings whale shark season, when these gentle giants cruise the deeper waters around Koh Bon and Koh Tachai. But here's the trade-off: peak season means crowds and higher prices. April can be spectacular for diving, but the weather gets unpredictable as monsoon season approaches. Avoid the shoulder months unless you're comfortable with rougher seas and the possibility of cancelled trips. The water temperature stays around 27-29°C year-round, so a 3mm wetsuit is plenty. Book dive trips well in advance during peak season — the best operators fill up fast, especially for liveaboard trips.
