March through May and September through November hit the sweet spot. Spring brings wildflowers to the surrounding hills and perfect weather for exploring the castle ruins. Summer gets brutally hot and humid – the Mediterranean location traps the heat. Winter brings rain and rough seas that make the Sea Castle less dramatic. November can be ideal: the summer crowds have vanished, the weather stays warm enough for comfortable walking, and the light turns golden for photos. Avoid July and August unless you enjoy sweating through ancient stones.
