Sicily in April
Great time to visit
April is one of the best months to visit Sicily.
All Months
April through June and September through October offer the sweet spot — warm enough for beaches but not the scorching heat that makes July and August miserable. Spring brings wildflowers to the countryside and perfect weather for exploring cities on foot. May is particularly lovely, with temperatures in the mid-70s and minimal crowds. Summer means beach weather but also means crowds, high prices, and temperatures that regularly hit 95°F. The interior can be brutal in July and August. But if beaches are your priority, the water doesn't warm up until June anyway. September might be the best month — the sea is still warm from summer, the crowds have thinned, and temperatures drop to comfortable levels. October extends the season with pleasant days, though some beach clubs start closing. Winter is mild compared to northern Europe, making it appealing for city exploration, but many coastal restaurants and hotels close from November through March. Mount Etna can be snow-capped even when Taormina basks in sunshine, so pack layers regardless of season.
