Siargao in February
Not the best time
February isn't ideal for Siargao. Consider a different month.
All Months
March through October delivers Siargao's sweet spot. Surf season peaks from August to November when consistent swells roll in from Pacific typhoons. Cloud 9 fires during these months, drawing pros and wannabes from around the globe.
But here's what locals know — March through July offers the best overall experience. Waves still break regularly, but crowds thin out. Rain comes in short, dramatic bursts rather than day-long downpours. Water temperature stays perfect for boardshorts or a thin wetsuit.
Avoid November through February unless you're chasing the biggest swells. Northeast monsoon brings heavy rain, rough seas, and cancelled boat trips. Many island hopping tours shut down completely. Some accommodations close during this period.
Amihan season (December-February) can work for experienced surfers willing to gamble on weather windows. Waves get bigger and more powerful, but consistency drops. You might score epic sessions or sit inside for three days straight.
Book accommodations early for August-September. Siargao Cup and other surf competitions pack the island during peak season.
