March through May gives you perfect weather without the brutal summer heat. Azaleas bloom throughout the city, and you can actually walk around comfortably. Fall works too—October and November bring mild temperatures and fewer crowds at the casinos. Summer in Shreveport is no joke. Temperatures hit the mid-90s with humidity that makes everything sticky. But if you're here for the air conditioning and casino hopping, summer rates at hotels drop significantly. Winter stays mild compared to northern cities, though it can get surprisingly chilly along the river.
