April through September gives you the best weather with minimal rain and lower humidity. July and August bring peak crowds and peak prices – beach club day beds that cost $50 in May jump to $80. The shoulder months of April, May, and September offer the sweet spot of good weather without the madness. Rainy season (October-March) isn't a complete washout, but afternoon downpours can ruin beach club plans. Nyepi (Balinese New Year) in March or April shuts down the entire island for 24 hours – no flights, no internet, no leaving your hotel.
