March through May offers the clearest mountain views and blooming rhododendrons. Temperatures are manageable, and the trails aren't icy. But you'll share the path with peak season crowds. September through November brings post-monsoon clarity and stable weather. The air is crisp, views are sharp, and autumn colors paint the lower valleys. This is when serious trekkers go. Avoid June through August - monsoon season turns trails into muddy rivers and clouds block mountain views. December through February is possible but brutally cold. Teahouses above Tengboche often close, and you'll need serious cold weather gear. January temperatures at base camp drop to -25°F.
