Sablon in March
Good time to visit
March is a reasonable time to visit Sablon.
All Months
April through September gives you the best Sablon experience. The weekend antique markets run year-round, but browsing outdoor stalls in December rain isn't fun. Plus, many dealers pack up early when weather turns nasty.
May and June hit the sweet spot. Temperatures reach 18-22°C, perfect for wandering cobblestone streets without sweating through your clothes. The antique market runs Saturdays 9am-6pm and Sundays 9am-2pm - weekend mornings offer the best selection before serious collectors snatch up the good pieces.
July and August bring crowds, especially around the Ommegang festival in early July when medieval pageantry takes over Grand Place nearby. Hotel prices jump 30-40% during this period.
September works beautifully if you don't mind occasional rain. Fewer tourists mean better service at restaurants, and antique dealers often reduce prices as summer ends.
Winter has its charm - Christmas markets appear in December, and cozy wine bars become more appealing. But daylight ends around 4pm, limiting your browsing time. Spring arrives late here, so March can still feel pretty grim.
