Running of the Bulls in August

Not the best time

August isn't ideal for Running of the Bulls. Consider a different month.

All Months

San Fermín runs July 6-14 every year, but the smart money arrives July 5th for pre-party vibes. The festival officially starts at noon on July 6th with the chupinazo rocket launch from City Hall balcony. Each morning at 8am sharp, the bulls run - but the real party happens from 6pm until sunrise. July 7th typically has the most dangerous run, while July 14th brings the biggest crowds for the closing ceremony. Weather in July averages 25°C (77°F) during the day, dropping to 15°C (59°F) at night. Pack layers because you'll be outside for hours. Rain happens, turning cobblestones into slip-and-slides. The festival ends at midnight on July 14th with 'Pobre de Mí' - thousands singing a melancholy goodbye song. Then the city sleeps for 358 days.
