The Newport Mansions look stunning surrounded by autumn foliage. Winter visits work for Providence's restaurant scene and cozy inn stays, but many coastal attractions close. Spring arrives late here — April can still feel chilly and raw. Block Island practically shuts down from November through April, so plan accordingly.
