Queensland's seasons flip the script on what you'd expect from Australia. The tropical north has two seasons — dry and wet. Dry season from April to October brings perfect weather with clear skies and comfortable temperatures in the mid-20s Celsius. This is peak season for the Great Barrier Reef and rainforest activities. Wet season from November to March means humidity, afternoon thunderstorms, and potential cyclones, but also fewer crowds and lower prices. The southern regions around Brisbane and Gold Coast are more temperate. Winter months from June to August offer mild days perfect for outdoor activities, though ocean swimming requires a wetsuit. Summer gets hot and humid, but the beaches and air-conditioned shopping centers provide relief. Avoid school holidays if possible — accommodation prices double and popular attractions get swamped with families.
