April through June is pure magic. The weather's perfect, jacaranda trees bloom purple along the streets, and you can actually move without shoulder-checking tourists every three steps. October and November work too — warm days, cool evenings, and the summer crowds have fled back to their cruise ships. Avoid July and August unless you enjoy sweating through your shirt while waiting 20 minutes for a table. Winter gets surprisingly cold, and many outdoor tavernas close their terraces. But December has its charm — Christmas lights reflect off wet cobblestones, and you'll have the Roman Agora practically to yourself.
