Western Philippines gets hammered, while eastern areas like Siargao actually see their best surfing conditions. Typhoons typically hit September through November, so check weather patterns before booking. Holy Week (March or April) shuts down the country. Flights cost double, beaches pack with domestic tourists, and many restaurants close. Avoid this week unless you enjoy crowds and inflated prices. Christmas and New Year bring Filipino families home from overseas, creating a second peak season. Book accommodation early during this period – many places fill up months in advance.
