Park City in May

Not the best time

May isn't ideal for Park City. Consider a different month.

All Months

Peak ski season runs December through March, with January and February offering the most consistent powder. But you'll pay top dollar - lift tickets hit $200+ per day, and hotels triple their rates. Martin Luther King Jr. weekend and Presidents Day are absolute chaos. March brings spring skiing with longer days and better deals. The snow can get heavy and wet, but you'll save $100+ per night on accommodations. Summer transforms Park City into a different animal. June through August sees mountain biking, hiking, and the Sundance Film Festival in late January. Hotel rates drop significantly, and the alpine slide at Park City Mountain opens for kids. September might be the sweet spot - warm days, cool nights, and the aspen trees turn golden. Most summer activities are still running, but the crowds thin out after Labor Day. Avoid late April and May unless you enjoy mud season. Most mountain activities shut down, and the town feels sleepy.
