Okanagan Valley in July

Great time to visit

July is one of the best months to visit Okanagan Valley.

All Months

May through October delivers the goods, but timing matters for what you want. July and August bring peak summer – perfect lake weather, all wineries open, but also crowds and premium prices. Book accommodation months ahead for summer visits. September is harvest season and arguably the valley's best month. The weather stays warm, wineries buzz with activity, and you'll see actual grape picking. But it's also the busiest time for wine lovers. June offers shoulder season pricing with great weather and fewer crowds. Most wineries open for the season, and the spring bloom is spectacular. October delivers fall colors and crush season energy, plus cooler temperatures perfect for hiking. May can be hit-or-miss weather-wise, but you'll have the place mostly to yourself. Winter brings skiing at Silver Star and Big White, plus ice wine season, but many smaller wineries close. The lakes freeze partially, creating different but beautiful scenery.
