Northern Vietnam in April

Great time to visit

April is one of the best months to visit Northern Vietnam.

All Months

October through November gives you perfect weather — clear skies, comfortable temps, and golden rice terraces in full harvest mode. March to May brings mild temperatures and fewer crowds, though occasional drizzle happens. December through February gets cold, especially in the mountains where Sapa can hit near freezing. But winter means fewer tourists and dramatic fog rolling through the valleys. June to September brings heavy rain and humidity that makes everything sticky. Typhoon season runs July through September, potentially disrupting Ha Long Bay boat trips. The rice terraces look most dramatic during planting season in May and harvest time in October. Book accommodations early during Vietnamese holidays like Tet in February.
