North Louisiana in November
Great time to visit
November is one of the best months to visit North Louisiana.
All Months
March through May gives you the sweet spot - wildflowers blooming, comfortable temperatures in the 70s, and spring fishing at its peak. The azaleas around Natchitoches explode in pink and white during March. April brings the Natchitoches Jazz Festival and perfect weather for outdoor activities.
Fall works too, especially October and November. Temperatures drop back into the 70s after the brutal summer heat, and the cypress trees turn golden in the swamps. November through February offers the best bass fishing, plus you'll avoid the crowds entirely.
Skip June through September unless you enjoy feeling like you're breathing soup. Summer temperatures hit the mid-90s with humidity that makes it feel over 100. The mosquitoes are also relentless during these months. Hurricane season runs June through November, though North Louisiana rarely sees direct hits.
Winter can be surprisingly cold - temperatures sometimes drop into the 20s, and the area gets occasional ice storms that shut everything down. But hotel rates are lowest, and you'll have attractions mostly to yourself.
