Nigeria in June

Not the best time

June isn't ideal for Nigeria. Consider a different month.

All Months

Harmattan season (November through March) brings the best weather. Dry winds from the Sahara cool things down and clear the humidity. December and January are peak months — expect higher prices and crowded attractions, but also the most festivals and events. The rainy season (April through October) turns roads into rivers and makes travel unpredictable. But it's also when the landscape turns green and waterfalls flow strongest. Hotel rates drop significantly, and you'll have tourist sites mostly to yourself. Lagos Fashion Week happens in October, while December brings countless concerts and parties. Calabar Carnival in December rivals Rio for spectacle. The harmattan dust can irritate sensitive skin and eyes, but most people adjust quickly. Avoid traveling during major holidays like Eid or Christmas unless you're part of the celebration — transport gets scarce and expensive.
