Temperatures hit 45°C regularly, and the air shimmers with heat. Even locals stay indoors during midday. But if you can handle the heat, hotel prices drop and you'll have attractions to yourself. Rainy season runs June through September. Don't let the name fool you – rain comes in short, intense bursts followed by steamy heat. Roads flood temporarily, and mosquitoes multiply. But the countryside turns green, and mango season peaks in July. December brings the coolest weather and clearest skies. It's also when festivals happen and families gather for celebrations. Book accommodation early during this month.
