Namibia in July
Great time to visit
July is one of the best months to visit Namibia.
All Months
May through October delivers perfect weather – clear skies, comfortable temperatures, and minimal rain. Daytime temperatures hover around 25°C (77°F) while nights can drop to 5°C (41°F) in the desert. Pack layers. This dry season also concentrates wildlife around water sources, making game viewing spectacular in Etosha. The red dunes at Sossusvlei photograph beautifully year-round, but the harsh summer months (December-March) bring temperatures over 40°C (104°F) and occasional flooding. Coastal areas like Swakopmund stay cooler thanks to ocean currents, but morning fog can limit visibility. June through August sees the most visitors, so book accommodations early. September and October offer the sweet spot – fewer crowds, great weather, and animals still gathering at waterholes.
