Mendoza Province in September

Good time to visit

September is a reasonable time to visit Mendoza Province.

All Months

March through May is harvest season, when the vineyards turn golden and every bodega hosts picking parties. The weather stays warm but not brutal, perfect for outdoor tastings. But everyone knows this, so expect crowds and higher prices. Book accommodations months ahead. Winter (June through August) brings snow to the mountains and clear, crisp days perfect for wine tasting without the heat. Many outdoor activities shut down, but ski season at Las Leñas runs July through September. Hotel rates drop significantly, and you'll have wineries mostly to yourself. Spring (September through November) offers the best balance — mild weather, fewer tourists, and grape vines just starting to bud. October is particularly nice for hiking in the pre-Cordillera foothills. Summer (December through February) gets hot — often above 35°C — but the long days mean you can start wine tours early and still have evening light for dinner.
