Maldives in February
Great time to visit
February is one of the best months to visit Maldives.
All Months
November through April delivers the Maldives at its absolute best. Northeast monsoon season means calm seas, minimal rain, and those postcard-perfect blue skies. Visibility underwater hits 30+ meters, making this prime time for diving and snorkeling. Expect to pay peak prices — resorts charge 30-50% more during these months.
December and January represent peak season within peak season. Christmas and New Year bookings require reservations months in advance, with some resorts demanding minimum 7-10 night stays. But the weather rarely disappoints.
May through October brings the southwest monsoon — translation: more rain, rougher seas, and dramatic cloud formations. Don't write off this period entirely. Rain often comes in short, intense bursts followed by brilliant sunshine. Resort rates drop significantly, sometimes 40% below peak season.
June through August sees the heaviest rainfall, but also the best deals. If you can handle occasional downpours and don't mind spending more time in your villa, the savings are substantial. Just avoid planning diving trips during this period — visibility drops and currents strengthen considerably.
