The shoulder seasons of October and April see moderate crowds and decent weather. Summer months bring punishing heat but fewer pilgrims, making it easier to access holy sites. Taif becomes popular during summer as Saudis escape to its cooler mountains. The Rose Festival in April showcases the region's agricultural heritage. Avoid planning around Saudi National Day (September 23rd) when domestic tourism peaks.
