Lima Province in August
Great time to visit
August is one of the best months to visit Lima Province.
All Months
Lima's mild climate means year-round visits work, but May through October offers the best weather. These months bring minimal rainfall and comfortable temperatures around 65-75°F. The sun actually appears regularly — a big deal in a city famous for gray skies.
December through March brings Lima's summer, with temperatures reaching 80°F and occasional beach weather. But this is also the rainy season, though "rainy" in Lima means light drizzle rather than downpours. Hotel prices peak during these months.
April and November serve as shoulder seasons with decent weather and fewer crowds. Restaurant reservations become easier to snag, and you'll have beaches mostly to yourself.
Avoid June through August if you want sunshine — Lima's winter brings persistent coastal fog called garúa that can last for weeks. Temperatures stay mild but the gray skies get depressing. Locals joke that Lima has two seasons: gray and less gray.
