Trade winds keep temperatures comfortable in the low 80s. September through November works even better for deals. Hurricane season sounds scary but rarely affects Kauai directly. You get warm ocean temps, fewer families (kids are back in school), and restaurant reservations become possible again. Avoid December through March unless you book months ahead. Winter brings humpback whales and perfect weather, but also doubles hotel rates and packs every beach. Summer (June-August) means hot, humid days and mainland families everywhere.
