Khorog

Khorog in November

Not the best time

November isn't ideal for Khorog. Consider a different month.

All Months

June through September offers the only reliable window for Khorog visits. Winter temperatures drop to -20°F and many mountain passes close entirely. July and August provide the warmest weather, with daytime temperatures reaching 70°F, though nights still drop to freezing. September brings stunning autumn colors to the valleys, but weather becomes unpredictable after mid-month. June can still have snow at higher elevations, but the main roads stay open. The Pamir Highway typically opens fully by late June, though some high passes like Ak-Baital remain sketchy until July. If you're planning the full highway circuit to Osh, Kyrgyzstan, aim for July or August when all routes are reliably passable.
