Kamala in February
Great time to visit
February is one of the best months to visit Kamala.
All Months
Kamala shines brightest from November through April when the monsoons take a break and the Andaman Sea turns that impossible shade of turquoise. December and January bring perfect weather but also peak crowds and prices - expect to pay 30% more for accommodation.
Here's a local secret: February through April offers the sweet spot. Weather stays dry and sunny, but the Christmas rush has cleared out. March can get hot - we're talking 35°C in the shade - but the beaches empty out and you'll have that postcard-perfect bay mostly to yourself.
Avoid May through October unless you enjoy dramatic thunderstorms and choppy seas. The monsoon doesn't mean constant rain, but when it hits, it hits hard. Some beachfront restaurants close entirely during this period. But if you're chasing deals and don't mind the occasional downpour, accommodation drops to half-price and you'll experience Kamala at its most authentic.
