Spring and fall are perfect. April through June gives you mild weather and blooming Liberty State Park without summer crowds. September and October offer crisp air and stunning sunset views from the waterfront. Summer gets hot and humid, but the outdoor concerts at Liberty State Park make it worthwhile. Winter? Look, it's cold and windy by the water. But hotel rates drop significantly, and you'll have those skyline views mostly to yourself. Avoid major NYC events unless you book way ahead. When Manhattan hotels jack up prices, Jersey City fills up fast.
