Ifugao in September
Not the best time
September isn't ideal for Ifugao. Consider a different month.
All Months
November through April offers the best weather — clear skies, minimal rain, and comfortable temperatures. January and February are coolest, perfect for hiking without overheating. March and April warm up but stay pleasant. Here's the trade-off: dry season means brown, dormant terraces in many areas. For the classic green terraces photos, visit during planting season (May-June) or growing season (July-August). But expect daily afternoon rains and muddy trails. September through October can be spectacular — terraces turn golden as rice ripens, and weather starts improving. Avoid typhoon season (July-September) if possible, though mountain locations usually escape the worst storms. Local festivals happen year-round: Imbayah Festival in April celebrates Ifugao culture, while harvest festivals occur village by village from September to November. Book accommodations early during dry season — options are limited.
