Hampi Region in December

October through March offers the ideal weather window for exploring Hampi. Temperatures hover around 25-30°C during the day, dropping to comfortable 15-20°C at night. December and January see the most crowds, especially during the Hampi Utsav festival in early November. The shoulder months of October and March provide perfect conditions with fewer tourists competing for photos at sunrise spots like Hemakuta Hill. April gets uncomfortably hot, with temperatures climbing toward 40°C. May and June are brutal – locals themselves avoid outdoor activities during midday hours. The monsoon arrives in July and continues through September, bringing relief from heat but also flooding some areas and making river crossings dangerous. Rain transforms the landscape into lush green, but many outdoor activities become impossible. If you can handle some heat, late March offers blooming bougainvillea against the ancient stones – photographers love this combination.
