Haiti in September

Not the best time

September isn't ideal for Haiti. Consider a different month.

All Months

November through April offers the driest weather and most comfortable temperatures. December and January are peak season, so book accommodations early and expect higher prices. Carnival in February transforms the country, especially in Jacmel and Port-au-Prince. Hotels fill up months in advance, and the party atmosphere is infectious. But crowds and noise levels aren't for everyone. March and April give you great weather with fewer tourists. This is prime time for exploring historical sites without fighting for photos. Avoid May through October if possible - hurricane season brings heavy rains and flooding that can make roads impassable. Plus, the humidity becomes oppressive by afternoon.
