Grenada in August

Not the best time

August isn't ideal for Grenada. Consider a different month.

All Months

December through April is peak season for good reason - dry weather, steady trade winds, and temperatures in the low 80s. But you'll pay premium prices and fight crowds at Grand Anse. May through November brings rain, but it's usually short afternoon showers followed by sunshine. Hurricane season runs June through November, with September and October being the riskiest months. The upside? Hotel rates drop by 40% and you'll have beaches to yourself. Spice Mas (Carnival) happens in August - two weeks of parades, music, and street parties. Book accommodations months ahead if you want to experience it. Avoid late September through early October unless you're comfortable with hurricane risk. The weather can turn nasty fast, and many restaurants and attractions close. The best compromise? Visit in May or early June. Weather is still mostly dry, prices are lower, and the island feels less touristy.
