Greece in February

Not the best time

February isn't ideal for Greece. Consider a different month.

All Months

May and September offer the sweet spot - warm weather without August's crushing heat or crowds. Hotel prices drop 40% compared to peak season. Ferry schedules run frequently but aren't jam-packed with tour groups. April brings wildflowers and pleasant temperatures around 70°F, but some island restaurants and hotels stay closed until May. October extends swimming season with water still warm from summer, though afternoon storms become more common. June kicks off high season with perfect beach weather and long daylight hours. Everything opens, but prices climb and popular spots get crowded. Book accommodations well in advance. July and August mean peak crowds, highest prices, and temperatures hitting 95°F+ in Athens. Islands stay cooler thanks to sea breezes, but ferries pack with families and party groups. Some locals flee to mountains or northern Europe. Winter (November-March) brings rain and closed tourist infrastructure on smaller islands. But Athens stays mild, museum crowds disappear, and you'll have ancient sites mostly to yourself. Many island ferries reduce service to weekly schedules. Easter in Greece (usually different from Western Easter) creates a magical atmosphere with candlelit processions and lamb roasts. But book everything early - Greeks travel domestically during this important holiday.
