November through April offers the best weather — dry season means manageable heat and no rain. December and January are peak months with comfortable temperatures around 25°C. Birdwatching peaks from November to February when European migrants arrive. Over 500 species call Gambia home during these months. March and April get seriously hot — temperatures hit 40°C regularly. But accommodation prices drop, and you'll have attractions to yourself. Rainy season (May through October) brings flooding, humidity, and transportation nightmares.
